What Is PAWS?

Short for the Pet Adoption & Welfare Society of Alamance County, PAWS operates under a simple mission: ensuring every rescued animal receives a second chance at life. PAWS has partnered with Burlington's Adoption Center since 2001, with the goal of eventually becoming a no/kill shelter.

Back when PAWS first started their work, thousands of animals were euthanized every year and only very few were adopted. But now, those numbers have been flipped on their heads. Thousands of cats and dogs in the Burlington area now find homes each year, largely thanks to foster families, volunteers and the support of local businesses.

The Carolina Nissan Partnership with PAWS

Protecting local pets is a cause close to our heart. To help them continue their life-saving rescue operations, Carolina Nissan contributes a portion of the proceeds from every vehicle sold directly to PAWS of Alamance County.
